It’s a tough choice, but the film that effected who I am in
life most, and this might seem a little silly, is Mortal Kombat. The reason I
picked this particular film is how it has stayed with me from childhood till
now. I used to watch this movie all the time with my dad. He always wanted to
take some sort of martial art with me, but he couldn’t because of the injuries
to his back. We would watch this movie and go out in the yard and play fight
and what-not. It isn’t the best martial arts movie out there but it is what got
me started on it. It also started me on being the gamer that I am now. The
first Mortal Kombat game came out in 1992, the same year I was born, and I grew
up playing them and getting my butt kicked on them. :-P Within the last year,
they released a new a new Mortal Kombat that redid the whole series…and trust
me, I had it the day it came out. Mortal Kombat started my love of martial arts
and started my love of video games, it is a big reason I am the laid back nerd
that I am now. This is why I picked this film to be the film that shaped my
world.
